ABOUT THE ARTIST
Originally from Belfast, where I began to develop my craft, I have lived in County Leitrim now for many years. I am a qualified archaeologist, a historical tour guide and artist. I now generally paint in oils and acrylic. With my landscapes I aim to capture the imagery of light, atmosphere, mood, colour and mystery. With my wildlife paintings I try to represent the awe and magic of that usually fleeting encounter.
I have had many years experience in producing portraits in pencil oils and oil pastels. My work is exhibited at art galleries, community art and solo exhibitions around Ireland and I have served as the artist-in-residence at Lissadell House in County Sligo. I usually work from on-site sketches backed up by a camera. I also work from photographs sent to me for commission work. I will travel to meet with customers locally if required (no obligation to purchase).
